Miriam's Prophecy speaks to the pivotal role women have traditionally played in Judaism. Miriam's father, Amram, was convinced by Pharoah's decree that nationwide divorce was the only solution. Miriam responded saying that Pharoah had condemned only the boys but that Amram had condemned the girls as well, destroying the fledgling nation even before its birth. Upon hearing Miriam's farsighted wisdom Amram relented, remarrying his wife Yocheved, paving the way for the birth of Moses.
